Looks Pretty Good

The front of our building (top) is looking pretty close to the computer renderings (bottom) that the architects created.

Wow! Things Are Looking Great

I haven't posted pictures for a bit so there are a lot of changes over the last month.  Take a look.....

Out Side

Workers are installing a new door frame for the entrance to the mechanical room (old boiler room).

New concrete is being poured.  Many of the fence sections have been removed from the back of the building.
Brick is being laid on the back exterior wall of the gym.
This is the back of the gym.  The solid wall in the center of the picture used to be the four doors that entered into the gym.  Notice the new doors that go directly onto the gym floor.
The back mechanical rooms have received a coating of sealant and are awaiting new brick.

The new concrete that was poured will be the support for the dumpsters. The concrete walls wait for brick and will surround the dumpsters.
The former boiler room has new doors and new brick.
New sidewalk is being poured down the side of the gym.

Our new driveway in the back has been landscaped.

Front of Building

The entire parking lot and bus lane have been repaved.  This is the machine that chews up the blacktop and then.....

....it spits the broken up debris into a dump truck.

Landscaping has been added to the front of the building.

Sod makes a big difference in the finished look of the front.

This is the fence and new landscaping that leads to the preschool playground.

 Wow what a big difference!!

The roof and columns have been added to the canopy.

This is the new square footage in front of the gym.  This area has a classroom and student restrooms.

Parents love our new benches out front.

Gym

It's a great shock to walk into the gym and see white walls.

The new stage area is getting soffit work.

The door in the center is Ms. Klinker's office and staff restroom.  The doors to the left lead into the hallway that runs in front of the cafeteria entrance.  This was formerly the front exit toward the parking lot.

The doorway on the left leads up the side of the stage.  The center door is a storage room and the left door leads outside.  This was formerly the small hallway that led to the cafeteria.

This is the new stage area.  Notice the back wall, it is the wall that is extended in the cafeteria.  The stage can be accessed from the gym or the cafeteria.

Staying on Schedule

The work on our building continues.  The construction crews are working diligently on the back hallway and new classrooms by the gym.  The boiler room (which no longer has boilers) is getting its share of a makeover.  Take a look at the work.

New Classroom Addition

The new square footage being added in front of the gym will include a classroom, student restrooms, and storage and offices for the gym.

A view from the restroom looking out into the hallway.

This is the new classroom.

Another view of the new classroom.

The entrance into the new area from the front of the building.

This is the continuation of the hallway that will run in front of the cafeteria.  Another bench will be installed under these windows just like the ones in the finished part of the hallway.

 Outside Work

Concrete is being laid outside the new classroom area.  As drivers go through the car lane, they will drive beside these concreted areas.

 Stage

Work is being done on the new stage from the gym side.  A new roof is being installed.  The plastic is covering the temporary wall that blocks off the cafeteria.

Workroom

The teachers' workroom is almost complete.

Old Library and Lounge

Work continues on the old areas.  Workers are cleaning it out in preparation for its renovation.

More Outside Work

Work continues on the back hallway as all of the exterior brick has been laid.

The back rooms are receiving concrete footers in preparation for brick work.

This is a crawl space under the back hallway.

Ever wondered what was holding the building up?
