D.W. Wilburn, Inc. is our general contractor for the Clays Mill Elementary Renovation.  At this point, the author of the blog is unsure of its contents or future use.  More info to come. 



Kinda' Quiet

There hasn't been much going on at CME in regards to the renovation.  A few workers have been spotted out around the portables but no major work.  Hopefully, there will be an update soon. 

A Little Bulldozing

Since we are beginning the renovation process, there is a lot of prep work that needs to be completed. They are beginning to bring in fill dirt and place it on the Clays Mill Road side of the building.  They have had to work around our testing schedule so the bulldozer was moving hard and fast on Wednesday (no testing) but sits silently today. 



Thursday, May 5th, notice the frost on the grass - it was 34 degrees when the photo was taken.  Brrrrrr



The fill dirt has come in and has been spread out and some pushed to one end toward the parking lot. 



Every little boy's dream.......a bulldozer sitting at school. 



A Bit More Wiring

We have had workers in the building running wires that will go out to the portable.  The orange wires are the fiber optics, the gray ones are for the PA system and the phones.  It may not look difficult but the wires are extremely long and got all tangled as they worked.  The wiring goes through the ceiling in the workroom, over the boys' restroom, down the wall and then outside.  The wires will be buried and then brought back up and connected to the portables. 

This may look like a simple wiring job but......



the electrician has a few cords to deal with.......



and they got all tangled.
